Testing MINUMINU

I think you remember my post about MINUMINU a while ago? Well, we received one item from the brand. This is the Sora Jacket (size is 104/110 and my son is around 100 cm long now), it's made from velvet and perfect for spring and summer! I love the design of the jacket, it has space for the kid to move around and is still great looking. My son was happy to model the jacket as you can see below (and yes; he still has a band-aid above his eye, he thinks that the band-aid will make it heal faster...).

Muistatte varmaan vielä kun postasin suomalaisesta MINUMINUsta? No, me saimme merkiltä yhden vaatteet "testiin". Mä valitsin Sora-takin (koko on 104/110 ja poika on nyt n. 100 cm pitkä jos mietitte merkin mitoitusta), takki on tehty ohuesta samettikankaasta ja on täydellinen kevääseen ja kesään! Tykkään takin muotoilusta, on sopivan reilu jotta lapsella on tilaa leikkiä ja vielä näyttääkin hyvältä. Poikakin oli mielellään mallina kuten kuvista näkyy (ja kyllä; silmän yläpuolella on edelleen laastari, pojan mielestä pipi paranee nopeammin kun siinä on laastari...).

Ready, Steady, Skate!

We went ice skating twice during this weekend, for the first time this winter. Last winter my lil' boy didn't like it at all (he actually refused to put his skates on...) so I was a bit worried how it goes... But it went amazingly well!
On Saturday when we were skating for the first time, I had to hold him by his arms because otherwise he'd fall down immediately. But on Sunday (the second time) he didn't need me to hold him! He fell down of course but he just stood up by himself and skated a bit and then fall down and start it all over again... We were so proud of him! ♥

Käytiin viikonloppuna pariinkin otteeseen luistelemassa, ekaa kertaa tänä talvena. Viime talvena pieni ei tykännyt siitä yhtään (itse asiassa kieltäytyi laittamasta luistimia jalkaansa...) joten hiukan mietitytti miten luistelu sujuu... Mutta se sujui yllättävän hienosti!

Lauantaina, kun olimme ekaa kertaa jäällä, jouduin pitelemään poikaa käsistä koko ajan koska jos päästin irti hän kaatui. Mutta sunnuntaina mun ei tarvinnutkaan enää pidellä häntä! Tyyppi kyllä kaatuili mutta nousi itse ylös, luisteli hiukan, kaatui taas ja nousi jälleen jne... Me oltiin kaikki niin ylpeitä pienestä! ♥

As you can probably see from the pictures, he had a bit of an accident above his other eye on Friday. He was at daycare and his nanny called me and told that he fell and got quite big wound above his eye. So I went to get him and we visited a doctor who "glued" the wound. He's very proud of it actually, I guess all the small ones are when they get a scar! ;D

Kuten varmaan huomasittekin kuvista niin pojalle sattui pieni tapaturma perjantaina. Hän oli hoidossa ja hoitaja soitti mulle että poika kaatui ja silmäkulmaan tuli isohko haava. Joten kävin hakemassa pojan ja käytiin lääkärissä joka liimasi haavan. Pieni on siitä oikeasti aika ylpeä, kaipa kaikki pienet on ylpeitä arvistaan! ;D

Major B

The postman brought us this great surprise couple of days ago. He's Major B (by My Name is Simone) and he came here from France. We call him David (which is quite obvious name for him...).
The lovely people of French Blossom sent him to my son and we are so grateful! Thank you Nicholas and Meriem! =)

Postimies toi meille tämmöisen yllätyksen pari päivää sitten. Hän on Major B (My Name is Simone on merkki) ja hän saapui Ranskasta. Me nimesimme hänet Davidiksi (joka on melkoisen itsestäänselvä nimivalinta...).

Ihanat French Blossomin omistajat lähettivät hänet pojalle ja olemme erittäin kiitollisia! Suuret kiitokset Nicholakselle ja Meriemille!

Indikidual!

I meant to write about this brand already yesterday but I've been super busy. My work is moving to another location (near the old one) and our China team has been on a holiday for whole week so I've been packing my things in the office and I also did all the work China team normally does as well as my own work... But here's finally Indikidual!

New Swedish/British brand Indikidual is going to be one of my favourites, I'm sure about that! They will launch their brand in Bubble London at the end of January. The clothes are made to kids up to 4 years old and I just hope they'll soon make clothes to bigger kids too since my kid is already turning 4 in couple of months and these won't necessarily fit him!

Mun piti kirjoittaa tästä merkistä jo eilen mutta olen ollut super kiireinen koko viikon. Meidän toimisto muuttaa uusiin tiloihin (melko lähelle vanhoja) ja Kiinan tiimi on ollut uuden vuoden juhlinnan takia koko viikon lomilla. Olen siis pakannut tavaroitani ja tehnyt Kiinankin tiimin työt omien lisäksi... Mutta tässä vihdoin Indikidual!

Uusi ruotsalais-brittiläinen merkki Indikidual on taatusti mun tuleva suosikki! Merkin ensi-esiintyminen on tammikuun lopussa Bubble London-messuilla. Merkki tekee vaatteita 0-4 vuotiaille ja mä toivon että jatkossa vaatteita saa myös isommille, meidän poika kun täyttää jo kohta 4 ja nämä ei siis hälle oikein enää mahdu!

Sain muuten vihdoin laitettua Huutikseen lisää vaatetta, vielä on jotain mitä pitäisi lisätä...

The Dinosaur!

My kiddo loves dinosaurs, he reads this one dinosaur-book every day! So we decided to take him to the museum of natural science, there is a dinosaur skeleton which I knew he'd love to see!
The kid loved our trip there, he said it was the best day ever!

He's reading his dinosaur-leaflet very carefully... And hey, I'm there too! Plus the elephant...

Tuo pieni mies on tykästynyt kovasti dinosauruksiin, yhtä dinosaurus-kirjaa luetaan ja tutkitaan joka ilta! Joten päätettiin viedä dinosaurus-poika katsomaan dinosauruksen luurankoa luonnontieteiden museoon.

Poika tykkäsi kovasti, oli kuulemma paras päivä! Ja kyllä vanhemmatkin viihtyivät, mielenkiintoinen paikka. Me oltiin jo toista kertaa (ja poika ekaa) ja mennään taatusti vielä uudestaankin! Tyyppi oli super-reipas, käveli nätisti eikä "töllöillyt" yhtään (ei edes yrittänyt koskea mihinkään mihin ei saanut koskea... :D). Mä olin super-ylpeä, on tuo niin isoksi pojaksi kasvanut!

Thanks to Lilla Company I found this coolest Finnish brand MINUMINU. I asked couple of questions from the founder Heidi and here is her answers:

MrsAgatha: How did the brand got its name?
Heidi: The name MINUMINU means "I I" or "mine mine" and it's from my daughters vocabulary. When she was 2 years old, she said that when she wanted something.

MrsA: Where did you get the inspiration to start your own business?
H: I first got the idea of my own business when we were living in Asia because of my husbands work. My kids were in local Montessori playschool and I, an architect, needed something creative work. I've always liked designing and sewing clothes to myself and my friends. My dear grandmother who was a dressmaker taught me to sew, draw, knit and make wooden toys. I remember vividly the magical visits to my grandmother! She always had drawers full of buttons, snaps, laces, fabrics, ribbons and threads, ready for the creative process to begin! The last push for starting the business came from the parents of my children's daycare-friends who had seen the clothes on my kids. They wanted me to start making clothes for their kids too and this is how MINUMINU started!

MrsA: Where do you get the inspiration on designing the clothes?
H: The inspiration comes from all the things surrounding us, stories, music or finding the right fabric can give the first push to ideas. I've lived around the world and picked inspiration for different cultures but still always remaining true to the Finnish design-traditions. Child should be proud and happy of the clothes they're wearing. I think that simplicity and carefully thought details and materials are better than over the top and complex designs. Less is more.

MrsAgatha: Mistä merkki on saanut nimensä?

Heidi: Sana 'MINUMINU' (tarkoittaa minä minä tai minun minun) on tyttäreni salaisesta sanavarastosta poimittu. 2-vuotias Sky toisti sanayhdistelmää, kun halusi jotain.:)

MrsA: Mistä sait innoituksen perustaa oman vaatemalliston?

H: Ideaoman yrityksen perustamiseen syntyi Aasiassa missä asuimme mieheni työn vuoksi. Lapseni kävivät paikallisessa montessori leikkikoulussa ja minä, arkkitehti,tarvitsin luovaa tekemistä. Olen aina pitänyt vaatteiden suunnittelusta ja ompelemisesta itselleni sekä tutuille. Rakas isoäitini, koulutukseltaan ompelija, opetti minut ompelemaan, piirtämään, kutomaan ja valmistamaaan puuleluja. Muistan vieläkin elävästi taianomaiset vierailut isoäitini luokse. Hänellä oli laatikostot täynnä nappeja, neppareita, pitsejä, kankaita, nauhoja ja lankoja, valmiina odottamassa luovaa prosessia! Viimeinen sysäys päätöksenteolle ryhtyä sanoista tekoihin, tuli lastenitarhakavereiden vanhemmilta, jotka olivat nähneet vaatteitani piskuisella 'Boolla' ja 'Busterilla'. He pyysivät, josko tekisin myös heidänlapsilleen jotain. Näin MINUMINU sai alkunsa.

MrsA: Mistä saat inspiraatiota vaatteiden suunnitteluun?

H: Ideoita sunnitteluun voi ammentaa lähes kaikesta ympäröivästä, tarinoista, musiikista tai juuri sen oikean kankaan löytäminen saattaa antaa ensi sysäyksen ideointiin. Olenasunut useassa maapallon kolkassa ja poiminut luonnoslehtiöön vaikutteita eri kulttuureista – pysyen kuitenkin uskollisena suomalaisellesuunnitteluperinteelle. Lapsen on oltava ylpeä ja iloinen yllään pitämistä vaatteista. Mielestäniyksinkertaisuus ja tarkkaan mietityt yksityiskohdat ja materiaalit voittavat ylitseampuvan ja monimutkaisen designin. Less is more.

Almost all the blogs are now full of Bobo Choses spring/summer-collection! I got couple pictures of the collection from the owner of Finnish e-shop Lilla Company. Lanvin Petite winter 2012

Okay, here I go again with the girls clothes... But I received this nice video on the Lanvin Petite winter 2012 and as I liked it a lot, I wanted to share it with you!
By the way, it's pretty cool that all of these bigger fashion designers are designing for kids now. I just want more clothes for the boys too, now it's all girls!

Taas mä postaan tyttöjen vaatteista... Mutta sain tämän videon Lanvin Petite talvi 2012 mallistosta ja tykkäsin siitä, niin ajattelin että tekin haluaisitte varmaan nähdä sen!

On muuten tosi kiva että nämä isot muotisuunnittelijat tekevät vaatteita myös lapsille. Mä vaan kaipaisin lisää poikien vaatteita, nyt kun lähinnä keskitytään tyttöihin!

Gallup-kysymys muuten: lajittelin tuossa pojan vaatteita Huutikseen ja mietin että ostaako joku jo kevät- ja kesävaatteita? Kannattaako niitä vielä laittaa Huutikseen? I'm loving the colours for the spring! It's weird for me, I've always been a gal who only adores black and grey in clothing both for me and my son. But now I noticed that the new spring lines are full of fabulous colours, for example the jeans from ESP No.1.

Mä huomaan tykkääväni tulevan kevään väreistä! Tää on mulle täysin outoa koska yleensä mä tykkään vain mustasta sekä harmaasta vaatteissa. Mutta nyt tosiaan kevään mallistot pursuilee ihania värejä, kuten esimerkiksi nämä farkut merkiltä ESP No.1.

Pale Cloud - if only I had a girl.

Sometimes I wish I had a girl. Don't get me wrong; I'm very happy with my little boy! But when seeing things for girls, I wish I had someone I could buy them.
For example Pale Cloud. The clothes are so beautiful it makes me wish they came in my size! Just look at these images from their winter 2012-collection (yes, I'm already thinking about next winter... ;D) and you'll know what I mean.

Joskus mä toivon että mulla olis tyttö vaikka erittäin tyytyväinen pojan äitinä oloon olenkin. Tytöille vaan tehdään niin ihania juttuja!

Vintage Firetruck

I love the online-life, I've met such amazing people through different channels and had funniest times tweeting with different people.

Yesterday my son received the most wonderful present from one of my gretest online-buddies! It came from the most talented lady I know - Kristin from KLT:Works! The gift was the cutest little firetruck, it's made in the year 1968 and my son loves it! The present also included the lovely little owl print which will soon be decorating my sons room.

Mä niin tykkään netti-elämästä, olen tavannut erittäin mahtavia ihmisiä netissä ja viettänyt twiittailun parissa oikein hauskoja hetkiä.
Eilen poika sai todella ihanan paketin yhdeltä parhaimmista netti-kavereistani! Paketin oli lähettänyt kaikkein lahjakkain ihminen kenet tunnen - Kristin KLT:Works-merkin takaa! Lahja oli suloinen pieni paloauto joka on tehty vuonna 1968, poika tykkää siitä todella kovasti! Lahjan mukana tuli myös hieno pieni pöllö-printti joka koristaa pian pojan huoneen seinää.

Little doggie

Last Friday we received a dog...

Well, only for a week!

He belongs to our relatives who are at the moment enjoying holiday in somewhere warm!

My lil' boy loves the dog a lot and keeps following the dog around our home so much that I have to tell him not to...

It's fun to have a dog for little while but I don't think I'll be a good dog owner, I hate getting up early and I also hate exercise so taking the dog out in the mornings would be a pain for me... :D

Koira on sukulaisten jotka ovat etelän lämmössä lomailemassa.

Pikkuinen tykkää koirasta tosi paljon ja seuraa sitä ympäri asuntoa niin paljon että olen joutunut jo kieltämään sen (kielto ei tosin tehonnut...).

On kyllä hauskaa kun on koira vähän aikaa mutta en usko että olisin kummonen koiranomistaja. Inhoan aikaisia aamuja ja liikuntaa joten aamu-ulkoilu olisi mulle kyllä ylitsepääsemättömän tuskaista... :D

Sledding.

Finally there's enough snow here in southern Finland that we could go sledding! So yesterday we put some warm clothes on and went to the nearest hill.

The boy had so much fun! He was either with me, with his dad or alone on the sledge and laughing all the time!

The joy of my son is pretty much the only thing I like about snow but I have to admit, sledding was pretty fun for the adults too! (I especially laughed when the dear hubby fell of the sledge! ;-) ) I think we'll do it again today!

Vihdoinkin tänne Etelä-Suomeen saatiin lunta tarpeeksi jotta pääsimme kelkkailemaan! Eilen vedimme lämpimät vaatteet päälle ja suunnattiin lähimpään mäkeen.
Pikku-tyypillä oli niin hauskaa! Laski joko mun tai isänsä kanssa tai yksin ja nauroi yhtään liioittelematta koko ajan!

Tuo pojan ilo onkin oikeastaan ainoa asia mistä mä lumessa tykkään mutta täytyy myöntää, kelkkailu oli aika hauskaa myös meistä aikuisista! (Mä nauroin eniten kun tuo miekkonen putosi kelkan päältä, vahingonilo on paras ilo! ;-) ) Mennään varmaan tänäänkin mäkeen!

I think that the Big Bang Theory is one of the funniest shows in TV. I just watched it last night (the episodes from their 4th season just started here in Finland) and I had this crazy idea! I'll dress my kid to look like Dr. Sheldon Cooper (he's my favourite, although I don't think I'd be able to stay sane if living with him...)!

Mun mielestä ~~Ruuvit löysällä~~ Rillit Huurussa (kiitos ano ;D) on yksi hauskimmista sarjoista ikinä! Eilen illalla kun katselin 4:n kauden ekaa jaksoa Subilta (nauhalta, sehän tuli jo tiistaina) sain hullun idean että puen pojan pieneksi Sheldon Cooperiksi!

Yporqué spring/summer '12

Although winter hasn't even properly started yet, the upcoming spring/summer-collection from Yporqué soon hits the stores! And I was lucky enough to receive some information on the new collection.

You can see some pictures of the new collection below. Although there's no picture here but of course their famous superhero-hoodie is available in the new collection too! And there will also be swimsuits with UV-protection like last summer.
I'm most interested in the short-pajamas and of course there's again couple of t-shirts I think I must get. The Kleinbus-tee at least, I love Kleinbusses! (Yes, I'm a hippie...)

New Year's eve.

We spent the New Year's eve at home. Just our family and the my in-laws. I think this is our 5th time in a row when we celebrate the New Year in this way!

We didn't do anything special, just eating and fireworks but I think it was the best way to start a new year!

Me vietettiin uudenvuoden aatto ihan kotona. Vain meidän perhe ja appivanhemmat. Tää on muistaakseni viides kerta putkeen kun me juhlitaan uutta vuotta näin!
Me ei tehty mitään erikoista, vain syöntiä ja ilotulitteita mutta mun mielestä se on paras tapa aloittaa uusi vuosi!

I love their use of colours and their unique colourblock-designs. Kattomenium is indeed very fresh newcomer to the clothing-industry!

Hello everyone! And Happy New Year! I'm back now and it feels good to be back!

First I'd like to share pictures from our Christmas which was full of good food, relaxing moments, great books, red wine and new toys! (Not all of those things are included in the pictures... ;D)

My son loved all of his presents; when I asked him which one of his presents was the best, he answered "All of them"! You can see most of his presents in the pictures below.

We have made a deal that only kids get presents but me and the hubby exchanged presents anyway, both of us received books since we both love to read a lot.

The two scarves I have in one of the pictures were a present from the lovely people of Ada Ada, thank you so much!

Later this week I'll share pictures of our New Year's Eve. My in-laws were visiting and we all had a blast!

Heippa kaikille ja Oikein Hyvää Uutta Vuotta! Mä olen nyt palannut pieneltä blogi-lomalta ja vaikka loma tekikin hyvää niin on kiva palata! =)

Tässä nyt alkuun kollaasi meidän joulusta. Joulu sisälsi paljon hyvää ruokaa, rentouttavia hetkiä, loistavia kirjoja, punaviiniä ja uusia leluja (kaikista ei ole kuvia... ;D).

Poika tykkäsi kovasti kaikista lahjoistaan; kysyin häneltä aattoiltana mikä lahja oli paras ja hän vastasi "Kaikki!". Osa lahjoista näkyykin alla olevissa kuvissa.
Ollaan lähipiirin kanssa sovittu että lahjoja ostetaan vain lapsille mutta miehen kanssa ostettiin toisillemme kirjoja lahjaksi koska molemmat tykkäämme kovasti lukea. Kaikki joululahjakirjat onkin jo melkein luettu!

Yhdessä kuvassa mulla on kaksi huivia jotka tulivat postissa juuri joulun jälkeen. Olivat ihana lahja Ada Adan väeltä! Kiitoksia kovasti sinne!

Myöhemmin tällä viikolla yritän postata kuvia meidän uuden vuoden aatosta. Mun appivanhemmat olivat kylässä ja meillä oli oikein hauskaa!

Christmas and New Year's eve are coming and next week is the busiest week at my work. That is why I decided to take a small break from blogging until the end of this year (at least). So we will meet again next year!

The last Christmas present.

Finally I found the last Christmas present for my son.

I've been searching for the right stove for him but found only big ones or ugly ones (and either one of those was something I wanted...).

Yesterday I found this Finnish e-store Lapsille.com (lapsille means in English "for the children") and they had THE stove!

This stove is made by Janod which is now my favourite toy maker since everything I see from them is something I'd love to buy!

Viimein löysin viimeisen joululahjan pojalle!
Olen etsinyt hänelle leikkihellaa jo pitkään mutta kaikki mitä olen nähnyt ovat olleet joko liian isoja tai liian rumia (ja kumpiakaan noista ei ole ollut hankinta-listalla heh).
Eilen päädyin Lapsille.com nettikauppaan (joka on mulle uusi tuttavuus) ja sieltä se oikea hella löytyi!

Hellan valmistaja on Janod joka on noussut suosikki lelu-valmistajakseni koska kaikki mitä olen merkiltä nähnyt, on ollut sellaista että voisin ostaa!

We visited Copenhagen the last weekend. Just me and my hubby! ♥

We had our 5th anniversary last week so I surprised him with this trip. We were there from Saturday to Sunday-evening and it was very relaxing to travel just the two of us. Little one was at his grand parents during our trip and he had great time there!

I forgot to take our camera so here's couple of pictures taken with my phone. These are from the Tivoli which we loved!

Käväistiin miehen kanssa pikavisiitillä Kööpenhaminassa viime viikonloppuna.
Meillä oli juuri 5-vuotishääpäivä ja tämä matka oli mun lahja miehelle. Oli kyllä ihanaa matkata ihan vain kahdestaan! Poika oli isovanhemmillaan hoidossa meidän reissun ajan ja hänellä oli ollut siellä oikein hauskaa!
Unohdin ottaa kameran mukaan reissuun mutta tuossa nyt pari kännykkäkameran kuvaa Tivolista.

Mä rakastan kangaskasseja. Ovat niin käteviä ja sopivat moneen käyttöön!
